Activities at the Department

Research activities

My area of research is primarily the cryopreservation of fish gametes and related investigations in reproductive biology. Sperm cryopreservation protocols were developed for more than 20 hungarian and exotic fish species, including sturgeons, cyprinids and several catfish species. Research topics under my supervision extended to investigation of larval malformations resulting from the use of cryopreserved sperm. Additionally, I have experience in the areas of chromosome preparation and chromosome set manipulation techniques (androgenesis and gynogenesis).

Other activities

Currently, I am involved in coordination of several research at the department, assignment of new research directions, contact with farming enterprises and industrial companies, development of alternative solutions to occurring problems. Responsible for the directive number 2 of the Short-Term Rectoral Program, member of the University Senate, of the Faculty Council, project manager of 2 univeristy-level projects.
